Taconic Veterinary Center has extensive capabilities for providing the best care to our patients. Among our many valuable tools is pet radiography (digital X-ray), which allows us to obtain high-quality images of the bones, joints, and other organ systems. X-rays can help our team detect and diagnose conditions that may not be apparent with a physical examination.
What are the Benefits of Using Radiographs?
Our equipment allows us to produce images in a matter of seconds, which means we can come to a decision about your pet’s treatment quickly.
We submit all of our radiographs to board-certified specialists to review, to ensure the most accurate diagnosis possible.
Conditions that Can Be Diagnosed with Digital X-Ray
Radiographs (X-ray images) can provide our team with a high-contrast visual of the bones, joints, and heart and lungs. Pets with the following conditions can benefit from digital X-rays:
- Musculoskeletal issues
- Tumors
- Foreign bodies
- Abdominal masses
- Urinary problems
- Gastrointestinal issues
- Heart and lung abnormalities
Do Pet X-Rays Require Sedation?
For the most part, our patients can go through the X-ray procedure without being sedated. If we feel your pet would benefit from sedation, we will let you know and develop an anesthetic protocol specific to their needs.
