At Taconic Veterinary Center in Cortlandt Manor, we are well equipped to provide emergency veterinary care for your pet, with all the in-house diagnostic capabilities necessary for making a quick diagnosis and providing rapid treatment.
Common Pet Emergencies
Unfortunately, our pets can’t tell us when they are hurt or in need of emergency care. It is in their nature to hide when they are sick or injured; however we recommend using the list below as a guide and contacting our team if you notice any of the following symptoms or behaviors:
- Difficulty breathing
- Excessive bleeding
- Vomiting or diarrhea for over 24 hours
- Lack of interest in food or water
- Straining or unable to pass stool or urine
- Inability to walk
- Acting lethargic or disoriented
- Loss of consciousness
- Experiencing a traumatic event (hit by a car, attacked by another animal, etc.)
- Seizures
- Exposure to or ingestion of a toxin
